Reps. Steil, Krishnamoorthi Announce Middle Class Jobs Caucus Priorities

April 23, 2019

JANESVILLE, WI—Today, co-chairs of the Middle Class Jobs Caucus, Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI) and Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), announced their caucus' priorities for the 116th Congress. Steil is the new Republican co-chair while Krishnamoorthi has served as the Democratic co-chair since 2017 when he co-founded the caucus.

"Our caucus is focused on ensuring that every American has the opportunity, skills, education, and ability to obtain a good paying job. Strengthening the middle class strengthens our families, our communities, and our nation," the co-chairs said. "We must address the skills gap so workers can achieve the American dream. We must also ensure Southeast Wisconsin and Chicago's west and northwest suburbs reach their full potential. The Middle Class Jobs Caucus gives us an opportunity to bring together workers, employers, educators, and Members of Congress to discuss issues impacting families across the country."

The Middle Class Jobs Caucus has 16 members. Prior to being elected to Congress in 2018, Steil worked in the manufacturing sector for a decade focusing on business development in Southeast Wisconsin. Elected in 2016, Krishnamoorthi previously worked in the private sector as the president of Chicago-area businesses in the technology sector.
