WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Bryan Steil’s budget-neutral amendment providing funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs’ suicide prevention and treatment programs passed the House of Representatives.

Watch the floor speech here.

“Wisconsin’s First Congressional District is home to more than 45,000 veterans. Whether through casework assistance or policy, I am committed to supporting these heroes. That’s why I’m fighting for this funding. Veterans should not have to suffer and go through their mental health battles alone. My amendment ensures $1 million is allocated to the Department of Veterans Affairs’ suicide prevention and treatment programs so veterans have the ability to receive the care they need,” said Steil.
