Steil Disappointed by Air National Guard Decision on KC-46 Tanker Stationing
WASHINGTON (September 27, 2024) - Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) today released the following statement regarding the Air National Guard’s decision not to station a KC-46 tanker at the 128th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) in Milwaukee.
“I am disappointed to learn this morning that Wisconsin’s 128th Air Refueling Wing was not selected to move forward in the U.S. Air National Guard's process for selecting the new location for a KC-46 refueling tanker,” said Steil. “I will continue to work to ensure Wisconsin is well positioned for future rounds of selection.”
NOTE: Last month,Rep. Steil led Wisconsin’s congressional delegation in urging former Air National Guard Director Michael Loh and Air National Guard Interim Director Duke Pirak to give the 128th ARW his full consideration when selecting the next home for a KC-46 refueling tanker. Last week, Representatives Steil and Moore met with Interim Director Pirak to discuss next steps to bring the new aircraft to Milwaukee.
