Steil Proud to Join American Confidence in Elections Act

July 27, 2022

WASHINGTON, DC Today, Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01), Ranking Member on the House Administration Subcommittee on Elections, joined Ranking Member on the House Administration Committee Rodney Davis (IL-13) in introducing the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act. To highlight the bill’s introduction, Steil joined Ranking Member Davis’s roundtable with state and local elections officials, and key stakeholders. The legislation introduced supports election integrity reforms that respect the Constitution, federalism, and conservative principles. The ACE Act will also address challenges faced by military and overseas voters.

“Americans deserve confidence in our elections. We must ensure that every eligible voter is able to vote, and that every lawful vote is counted. The ACE Act is an important step forward in inspiring voter confidence and protecting election integrity. As Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Elections, my focus has been on finding policies that make it easy to vote and hard to cheat. I look forward to working to implement many of the policies included in this important legislative package.”

Background:

Congressman Bryan Steil serves on the House Administration Committee and serves as Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Elections.

Steil is an original cosponsor of the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act, which was written after receiving input from election administrators across the country. The ACE Act gives states the tools to help implement commonsense election integrity provisions like voter list maintenance and access for election observers. The bill also takes the important step of cracking down on ballot harvesting and would also prohibit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organizations (Zuckerbucks) from providing direct funding to official election organizations.
