Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Bryan Steil released a statement following the announcement of an official agreement on the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA).

“USMCA is a win for Wisconsin, for our dairy and manufacturing industries, and for middle class families. After months of delay, we are finally moving ahead with USMCA. This is an improved trade deal with two of Wisconsin’s top trading partners, Mexico and Canada. USMCA gives Wisconsin farmers critical access to Canada’s dairy market.  It also creates jobs in the USA. From day one, I’ve supported this agreement and I am happy to see we are nearing the finish line. Wisconsin farmers and workers depend on strong trade agreements with our allies.”

On background:

Throughout Steil’s first term in office, Steil has been an outspoken supporter of USMCA. In April, Steil held an Agriculture and Trade Roundtable in Burlington, Wisconsin to discuss impacts of USMCA on our dairy and agriculture industry. In October, Steil joined Vice President Mike Pence in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin to highlight the importance of USMCA for Wisconsin manufacturing and workers.
