Steil Helps Introduce Bill to Impose Sanctions on Turkey

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Bryan Steil helped introduce legislation that imposes sanctions against Turkey in response to President Erdogan's attacks on our ally in northern Syria, the Kurds.

"Turkish President Erdogan is warned: there will be consequences if Turkey continues attacking our Kurdish allies. The Kurds have been a strong and reliable partner in the fight against ISIS. We cannot stand idly by as Turkey destabilizes the region. Turkey must and will be held responsible for their actions in northern Syria. We must ensure our Kurdish allies are protected."
