Steil Seeks Nominations for Wisconsin’s First Congressional District’s Health Care Worker of the Year Award

WASHINGTON, DC— Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) is now accepting submissions for the Wisconsin’s First Congressional District’s Health Care Worker of the Year Award. This award recognizes an unsung hero in our community who has gone above and beyond to care for Wisconsin families.

 

“Our doctors, nurses, and health care providers have continued to provide our community with the utmost care and compassion. It’s important to thank and recognize our healthcare workers for the services they provide. I look forward the recognizing this year’s heroes” said Congressman Bryan Steil.  

 

Wisconsin's First Congressional District’s Health Care Worker of the Year Award will recognize an unsung hero in Wisconsin's First Congressional District who has gone above and beyond to help our community and their patients.

The recipient of the Health Care Worker of the Year Award will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Displays exemplary service and performance in their profession
  • Upholds the standard of providing unsurpassed care and treatment for their patients
  • Goes above and beyond the call of duty in performing their responsibilities
  • Displays self-sacrifice and selflessness in caring for others

The nominee must reside in Wisconsin's First Congressional District (nominee may work at a facility outside the First District) and be a licensed health care professional (doctor, nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, etc.)

In 2020, Congressman Steil awarded Dr. Frank Brodkey of Milton, WI as Wisconsin’s First Congressional District’s Health Care Professional of the Year. Steil also recognized Registered Nurse Teri Stanley of Mount Pleasant,Emily Bundy, RN of Janesville, Casey Stubbs, RN and Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator of Janesville and the COVID-19 unit team as Health Care Heroes. 

In 2021, Congressman Steil awarded Kim Woych, NP of Racine and Amber Stempf, a Nurse from Mukwonago the award.
