Steil Statement on Equifax Breach

February 10, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, House Financial Services Committee member Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) released a statement after the Department of Justice announced four members of China's military have been indicted on charges of hacking into Equifax.

"The Equifax breach was a violation of millions of Americans' financial information. Today's DOJ indictment demonstrates our commitment to deterring Chinese aggression. China continues to utilize military resources to harm America. This must not go unchecked. Further, Congress must work harder to improve our nation's cybersecurity."
