WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Bryan Steil announced his cosponsorship of H.R. 1325, the Protect and Serve Act, which creates federal penalties for individuals who cross state lines and target and attack law enforcement officers. Congresswoman Val Demings (D-FL) and Congressman John Rutherford (R-FL), both former members of law enforcement, introduced H.R. 1325.

Steil also recognized Emily Bundy, RN, of Janesville, Casey Stubbs, RN and Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator, of Janesville, and the COVID-19 unit team as Health Care Heroes.

UNION GROVE, WISCONSIN—Bryan Steil urged U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie to investigate the coronavirus outbreak at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove. The Union Grove facility reported 20 veterans and 20 staff members contracted coronavirus, and three residents have died.

JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN—Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01), who represents Kenosha County in the U.S. House of Representatives, released a statement following the second night of violence in Kenosha.

"The violence and destruction we witnessed the past two nights in Kenosha needs to be stopped. Public safety must be assured. If the Mayor and Governor don't believe they have sufficient resources to do so, they need to request federal assistance immediately. I am prepared to support their request."
