U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Wis., a statement following the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office's report on the economic forecast for the next 10 years.
The CBO today increased its projections for this year's federal deficit by $63 billion and increased its forecast for deficits over the next decade by $809 billion. Deficits exceeding $1 trillion will kick in beginning next year and will average about $1.2 trillion annually over the coming decade.
As part of a National Association of Convenience Stores outreach program, freshman Congressman Bryan Steil, R-Wis., worked behind the count at Lou Perrine's Gas & Grocery, 5145 Sheridan Road, for a short time Wednesday.
Steil took on the role to learn about the dynamics of operating a convenience store, meet with customers and engage with constituents.

NATIONWIDE (SPECTRUM NEWS) - Around 70 members of Congress recently took a trip to Israel and that includes Wisconsin's First District Representative Bryan Steil. Steil sat down with our Alyson Bruner to explain some of the big takeaways from his trip and how it will impact neighbors here in Wisconsin.
This marked his first foreign trip as a Member of Congress. The purpose of the trip was to strengthen the United States' bond with Israel and for Members of Congress to learn and discuss issues impacting Israel and the region.
A bipartisan group of about 70 freshman congressmen, including U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Wis., are settling back in after a nearly week long trip to Israel.
However it was those that didn't go that grabbed the national attention last week.
U.S Reps. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., planned to go to Israel sponsored by a pro-Palestinian nonprofit organization called Miftah, but were last week barred from entering the country.
Steil said Tlaib and Omar "made a choice not to join the trip that we were on."

During the bipartisan trip, Rep. Steil and other lawmakers met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and learned about Israel's security.
Rep. Steil said the group also met with the leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organization.
MOUNT PLEASANT — Howard Peckrd is concerned about the mental health of some of his younger family members, and on Thursday at Case High School he wanted to learn more about what is available to those in need of mental health, and to understand more about what someone with mental issues feels.
Peckrd said he found some answers at a children's mental health forum hosted and organized by U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Wis., at Case.
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Congressman Bryan Steil hosted a Children's Mental Health Forum for parents and families Thursday night.
The forum included panelists from the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
It also included people with the U.S. Department of Education and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
MADISON, Wis. - The remaining 250 members of Wisconsin's Air National Guard departed for Southwest Asia on Sunday.
According to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs, the members will spend the next several months conducting flying missions in Afghanistan for Operation Freedom's Sentinel and NATO's Resolute Support.
Members were made up of the 115th Fighter Wing and 378th Fighter Squadron active associate.
On Friday, Vice President Mike Pence saw the overcrowded and unsanitary conditions that detained migrant adults faced at a U.S. detention center in McAllen, Texas.
His tour came in advance of ICE raids in select U.S. cities and amid a growing humanitarian crisis at the southern U.S. Border.
In comments following his tour, Pence called upon Congress to take action to begin alleviating the buildup of detained adults and families along the U.S.-Mexico border.
