WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Bryan Steil announced Wisconsin's Department of Justice was awarded more than $4.2 million in grant money to reduce and prevent domestic violence. The grants were awarded through the Violence Against Women Act, which Steil voted to reauthorize earlier this year.

"Turkish President Erdogan is warned: there will be consequences if Turkey continues attacking our Kurdish allies. The Kurds have been a strong and reliable partner in the fight against ISIS. We cannot stand idly by as Turkey destabilizes the region. Turkey must and will be held responsible for their actions in northern Syria. We must ensure our Kurdish allies are protected."

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN—Today, Bryan Steil joined U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Andrew Wheeler at Discovery World in Milwaukee for a roundtable discussion on reducing children's exposure to lead in drinking water. At the lab in Discovery World, Steil and Administrator Wheeler visited with students from Renaissance School in Racine.

JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN—Bryan Steil (R-WI-01) and Dean Phillips (D-MN-03) made a friendly wager ahead of Sunday's Packers-Vikings game at Lambeau Field. If the Packers win, Phillips will deliver Steil a 25-pound Pearson's salted nut roll and beer from Excelsior Brewing Company and Minnetonka's Unmapped Brewing. If the Vikings beat the Packers, Steil will give Phillips Wisconsin cheddar cheese from Mars Cheese Castle and a case of Janesville Gray's Honey Ale.
WASHINGTON, D.C.—At today's House Financial Services Committee hearing, Bryan Steil outlined the underlying problems of rising higher education costs and the need to redirect federal efforts to make education affordable for students and parents.
Steil's remarks, in part:
"I appreciate you [Chairwoman Waters and Ranking Member McHenry] calling today's hearing to highlight what is a really serious issue. We have a 1.5 trillion-dollar student loan problem. Today's hearing though, I think, digs into the false premise as to where the problem is.
