JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN—Bryan Steil joined eight of his House and Senate colleagues, Republicans and Democrats, to ask the Administration to increase oversight and prevent economic impact payments from being made to deceased individuals. Steil also cosponsored H.R. 2543, the Stopping Improper Payments to Deceased People Act.

In a time of crisis, targeted and innovative actions must be taken to ease the burden on families, especially when it comes to at-home and online schooling. We must address the costs incurred by families, like new materials, books, laptops or online educational programs.

The telephone town hall will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 10am.

JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN—Bryan Steil announced that the Kenosha Achievement Center is one of six Wisconsin non-profits to receive Federal Transit Administration (FTA) dollars through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. In total, Wisconsin non-profits will receive $568,559 to help provide job access programs to low-income individuals where public transit is not feasible.

Expanding the capability of testing for COVID-19 may be key to safely reopening the economy according to a local Congressman. Bryan Steil of Janesville says testing capabilities aren't improving at the speed he'd like. The Republican says he'd like to see more funding at the federal level to expand testing. He says with summer almost here, popular tourism site in Wisconsin will likely suffer economically, if people don't feel safe. Steil also adds politicising the crisis is detrimental to recovery.

Iran's leaders hope that the global battle against COVID-19 will allow their actions to go unchecked. But they cannot be trusted, and we must take action.

Iran is using the coronavirus pandemic to work to avoid our sanctions. I have a plan to stop that if we act now.

Iran is the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism. The Iranian regime threatens the United States and our allies and destabilizes the Middle East. As we've seen just earlier this year, Iran shot 15 ballistic missiles at U.S. service members stationed in Iraq. This type of aggression must not be tolerated.

JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN—Today, Bryan Steil led 12 of his colleagues to urge Speaker Pelosi, Republican Leader McCarthy, Senate Majority Leader McConnell, and Minority Leader Schumer to allow parents to access funds from 529 plans for expenses incurred while students are required to learn from home without being taxed or penalized.
